Stem Cell Therapy - Ardent Animal Health in Cathedral City, CA

Recently, Ridgeline Veterinary Clinic invested in Ardent Animal Health’s stem cell therapy which uses the pet’s own stem cells for treatment. This is called Autologous Therapy– when the stem cells come from your own body’s tissues. There are no ethical or moral concerns with the use of stem cells from one’s own body as these cells are adult and not embryonic. With Ardent’s technology, they utilize the body’s own regenerative capabilities by extracting adult stem cells from Adipose Tissue (fat).  Stem cells are the repair cells in the body.  This all natural therapy can lengthen and rejuvenate the quality of life of pets suffering from these diseases.  The stem cells reduce inflammation and pain while helping to re-build bone and soft tissue.  Healing will continue from weeks to months and the benefits generally last eighteen months or more without the need for pain medication.

what to expect

Stem cells are powerful healing cells in your pet’s body that can become other types of cells.  There are an abundance of adult stem cells in fat tissue, however, they are asleep.  Ardent’s Stem Cell Therapy allows Beauchamp to isolate stem cells from your animal’s own (autologous) fat tissue, wake them up, and reintroduce them directly into damaged areas.  Ardent continues to make advancements in veterinary regenerative medicine and biological therapeutic offerings for both equine and small animal applications. Ardent’s Adipose-Derived Stem Cell Procedure kit is a major scientific advancement in animal stem cell therapy that offers an economic solution for owners of pets suffering from osteoarthritis, hip dysplasia, ligament and cartilage injuries as well as numerous mobility ailments.  For example, in the case of arthritis, stem cells can become new cartilage cells and have natural anti-inflammatory properties thus reducing pain and increasing mobility.

In a recent study, 155 canines suffering from moderate to severe osteoarthritis were treated with Ardent’s stem cell therapy. Four independent veterinarians oversaw the study and results. At the end of 90 days, 99% of the canines showed improvements in at least one of the three analyzed categories (pain, range of motion, and lameness). This research, combined with many others, validates the use of stem cell therapy for the treatment of numerous ailments. Ardent is the only Veterinary Regenerative Medicine company to have multiple collaborative university studies further validating current technology and product pipelines.

Actistem Therapy For Pets

What Is Actistem Therapy?

Ardent Animal Health’s regenerative cell therapy allows your vet to isolate regenerative cells from an animal’s own fat tissue, wake them up, and reinject them directly into damaged areas. Actistem Therapy is a safe and affordable option for pets suffering from osteoarthritis, soft tissue injuries, hip dysplasia, and more.

How Does It Work?

This ability arises from repair cells that are found throughout our body. In the case of injury or disease repair cells are mobilized to damaged areas to attempt to fix the problem. Due to injury and/or age sometimes our own repair abilities can use a jump-start. By using the pet’s own repair cells isolated from fat tissue in the body, this repair ability can be applied to areas of need.

What is Ardent Animal Health Regenerative Cell Therapy?

Regenerative cells are powerful healing cells in your body that can become other types of cells. There are many adult regenerative cells in fat tissue, however they are asleep. Ardent AnimalHealth’s regenerative cell therapy allows your vet to isolate regenerative cells from an animal’s ownfat tissue, wake them up, and reinject them directly into damaged areas. For example, in the case ofarthritis, regenerative cells become new cartilage cells, thus reducing pain and increasing mobility.

What is so great about Regenerative Cell Therapy?

Regenerative cells treat the source of the problem by becoming new tissue to replace damagedtissue. Other treatments, such as NSAIDs, merely attempt to reduce symptoms. The treatment is avery low risk because it uses the animal’s own regenerative cells. With Ardent Animal Health’stechnology, over 95% of animals treated show improvement.

How long has this been available?

Regenerative cell therapy for animals has been commercially available since 2004. Ardent Animal Health started selling their kits in the US in 2010, to clinics on the mainland, and thousands of animals have been treated around the world. An Ardent Animal Health representative now lives in Hawaii and began introducing it to clinics here in 2012.

I have heard about other Regenerative cell companies. Which one is best?

For pet owners, there are two main advantages to Ardent Animal Health. First, the processing is all done in your vet’s office, so you don’t need to worry about losing your sample during shipping, or the sample heating up and getting damaged. Also, Ardent Animal Health allows your vet to do the entire procedure in one day, making it very convenient for you and your pet. While all companies are equally safe, Ardent Animal Health has the highest reported success rate of greater than 95%.When comparing side by side, vets chose Ardent Animal Health because of the superior results.

Is it safe?

Yes, this procedure is very safe. The biggest risk is using anesthetic, to remove the fat tissue. On a typical dog, this is easier than a spay, and the fat is collected in about 15 minutes by your vet. Processing the sample is done carefully by a highly trained Ardent Animal Health representative (or by a lab tech carefully trained by that representative). In the thousands of animals treated, we have not observed any negative side-effects from Ardent Animal Health’s Regenerative cell therapy

What happens to my pet when they come in for Regenerative cell therapy?

First, your vet will put your pet under general anesthetic. Then, he/she will make a small incision and collect 2-4 tablespoons of fat (either in the belly or behind the shoulder blades). Since your pet is under anesthetic, this is a great opportunity to do anything else needed – spay/neuter, or dental for example. Your local, highly trained Ardent Animal Health representative will then process the sample, right in the clinic, using Ardent Animal Health equipment. After about 3 hours, the cells are ready for injection into areas of damage. In addition, some cells are administered IV. For the administration step, your pet will either not be sedated at all, locally anesthetized with ethyl chloride spray, or lightly sedated, depending on what is best for your pet. You can pick up your pet later that same day.

What is the recovery period, and how long does it take to see results?

We recommend that the patient be kept quiet for the first 10 days. Then, while they may feel a lotbetter, you will need to be careful so your pet does not injure themselves until they build up some oftheir muscles. Swimming and walking in water are great therapy. We typically see improvementstarting after 3 weeks, and then continuing up to around 2 months.

What conditions do you treat?

Our typical patient has osteoarthritis (hip dysplasia, degenerative joint disease, calcifications, common degeneration, and inflammation), soft tissue injuries (cruciate injuries, tears, ruptures, inflammation), or needs accelerated healing of fractures. We know a lot about these conditions, and over 95% of these patients get better, with Ardent Animal Health’s Regenerative Cell Therapy.

We also treat other cases under “compassionate use”. We know less about these conditions but are seeing some exciting results. Some of those conditions are degenerative myelopathy, feline gingivitis, end-stage renal disease, liver and kidney failure, allergy, auto-immune, inflammatory bowel disease, pulmonary fibrosis, IMHA, atopy, and spine trauma. Please talk to your vet if you have questions about any of these conditions.

How long does a treatment last? What happens if my pet starts having trouble again?

We typically see about 1-3 years of relief after the initial treatment. Most pet owners chose to bank cells, so retreatment is easy. Ardent Animal Health has a banking facility in Kentucky. If symptoms return, your vet merely requests a dose of cells from Ardent Animal Health and injects them. No surgery is necessary.

Are there any animals that you do not treat?

Yes. Because we do not know exactly what happens when cancer patients are treated with Regenerative cells based on human studies, we do not treat those patients.
